Program Description

In recent years, the integration of mechanical, electronics & computer engineering gave rise to Mechatronics Engineering. Mechatronics & Robotics Engineering is at the core of a wide variety of specialized technologies that have been developing recently, like automation, computer & control engineering, and it forms the foundation blocks in every industry. The study mainly deals with course work supporting major areas like Robotics Technologies, Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, Sensors, Microprocessors/Micro Controllers, PLC, PLC, Programming, Vision Systems  & Artificial Intelligence.

Mechatronics & Robotics (an emerging area of flexible automation) has become a global industry as a result of the need to evolve efficient manufacturing processes and technologies. Robotics Technology is an emerging area of flexible automation in industries. Automation and technology are inextricably linked. Training in the latest technologies and processes in the areas of design, manufacturing, and the tools of integration is very much essential. The mechanical devices used in manufacturing are built with electronic systems, and computer technologies are used to control the process to achieve automation. The core objective is to train students in the latest technologies and processes in design, control, and manufacturing. The study mainly deals with course work supporting major areas like Robotics Technology, Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, Sensors, Microprocessors / Micro Controllers, PLC, Programming, Vision Systems, and Artificial Intelligence.

The program is also incorporated with modules that are keeping in trend with the latest technological developments in today’s digital world. Some of these modules are IoT fundamentals, Python programming, Raspberry Pi programming, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence for IIoT.

This Diploma program is recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and is accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
